Tennessee DNA Registry

As we continue our search for Johnia's killer, we also continue to support legislation that would change the state's current way of handling DNA evidence. The fact that the sheriff's department has DNA from the crime scene, but nobody to currently attach it to, is a hard thing to swallow. So, my family and I are strong backers of the proposed addendum to the current law which would require persons arrested for violent crimes to submit a DNA sample that would be checked against the DNA database for matches in other unsolved cases like Johnia's.

Billboard

The new billboard is up on Parkside Drive, across the street from the Ford dealer. It faces west.

Case Details

The Friday before Johnia was murdered, she went to a matinee at the Regal Theaters on Downtown West Blvd. When the ticket stub found in Johnia's purse was matched up to theater records, it was determined that two tickets were purchased at the same time. This means that Johnia most likely went to the movies with someone that day, but nobody knows who that person was. Johnia was very new to the area and was in the process of making new friends, so it's likely she went with someone she had met in the area.
